Company History
Geometrics Corp. was founded in 1992 by Mark Gehring, Cameron Sanders, Rock Mackie and Paul Reckwerdt to commercialize the UW Stereotactic Radiosurgery Planning System which they had developed at UW-Madison. This technology evolved into Pinnacle3, a 3-D radiation therapy planning system that offered target localization, radiation dose computation, and treatment plan analysis. In 1996, the company was acquired for $3.9 million by its marketing partner, ADAC Laboratories of Milpitas, CA. In 2000, ADAC was acquired by Royal Philips Electronics NV (Philips) and integrated into its medical systems division (the division is now known as Philips Healthcare).
