Company History
CDI was founded in 2004 by Dr. James Thomson, a pioneer in human embryonic stem cell research at the University of Wisconsin-Madison, and Tactics II Ventures, a Wisconsin-based venture capital fund. In 2008, two sister companies of CDI - Stem Cell Products Inc. and iPS Cells, Inc. - were merged into CDI. In July 2013, the company completed its Initial Public Offering, raising approximately $46 million. On May 1, 2015, CDI was acquired by Fujifilm Holdings of Japan.
