Company Profile

The NeuroCare Division of CareFusion Corporation develops, manufactures and markets neurological and neurodiagnostic monitoring products, vascular monitoring products and hearing screening products. Its brands include Nicolet Biomedical and Nicolet Vascular, prominent names in Madison's medical device history. The company completed its move from its Verona Road site to Middleton in late December 2009. CareFusion's headquarters is in San Diego.

Company History
Nicolet Biomedical was created as a division of Nicolet Instrument Corporation in 1965, and became part of Thermo Electron upon NIC's sale to Thermo in 1992. In 2001, Thermo spun out to shareholders its biomedical businesses as Viasys HealthCare. The Viasys NeuroCare Group was headquartered in Madison (this Group included the former Nicolet Biomedical and Nicolet Vascular). In 2007, Cardinal Health acquired Viasys NeuroCare and renamed the business Cardinal Health NeuroCare. In early 2009, Cardinal Health spun out its clinical and medical products businesses, including the NeuroCare Group, as a standalone company named CareFusion Corporation. CareFusion plans to become a publicly traded company through a spinoff of stock to existing shareholders on August 31, 2009.
